Hello, Welcome to Flowers by Piney River! I'm Susie, I'm a mother of 3 kids and I love to spend my time out in the garden enjoying God's beauty.
I am a 3rd generation gardener. My grandmas on both sides loved to grow all sorts of things. My mom always had a vegetable and flower garden every single summer that I can remember.
When I started a family of my own, my hands itched to be in the dirt and watch things grow around my home.
Flower farming wasn't ever an idea until after I went through some really dark days; when I had to face my own childhood abuse and process the pain that I had hidden for 20+ years.
I desired to be outside and feel the earth on my hands and see beauty come from the dirt. I found peace in my garden. I felt close to God. And being alone in my garden or greenhouse created a safe place for me to cry, heal, and talk to my Jesus.
I realized that in the beginning of time God created humans to be in a garden. It dawned on me that the garden was quite literally God’s choice for us.
In today’s world not everyone has the ability to have a garden, and I knew I wanted to bring this happiness to others.
So I started to dream of fields full of flowers. After some time, my husband encouraged me to jump in and go for my dream. My hope is that whether you are holding a bundle of flowers or standing in my field filling your arms full of blossoms, that you find healing and happiness and feel closer to Jesus.
